MTEN beats NCSU in excitement, 4-3, to reach ACC semi-finals

Rome, Georgia – Brian Cernosh Third-seeded North Carolina won the semifinals of the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference with a 4-3 victory over sixth-seeded North Carolina State on Friday at the Rome Tennis Center.

Cernoch, ranked 33rd nationally, beat No. 91 Rafa Izquierdo Luque in a long three-set match at the No. 1 singles to send the Tar Heels to the ACC semi-finals for the seventh consecutive year. Cernokh won the match 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (5-7), 6-3. He lost the first three games of the third set, then rushed to win six straight games over the jerky Locke.
