The New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference NHL Series Finals at a hockey game from the Amalie Arena on Tuesday.
The New York Rangers will be looking to bounce back and push Lightning over the edge to return to MSG after losing 3-2 to Lightning in Game Three last time out. Mika Zibanijad leads the Rangers team with 24 points including 10 goals and 14 assists, while Adam Fox also has 23 points with 5 goals and 18 assists for the team. Andrew Kopp has 13 points split between 6 goals and 7 apples while Artemi Panarin has 15 points with 5 goals and 10 assists and Chris Kreider also has 15 points with 10 high goals for the team this post season. Igor Shesterkin went 10-6 in the postseason with 2.62 GAA and 0.930 keeping percentage this postseason.
Tampa Bay Lightning hopes to make this a top three series after getting the plate in this series one last time. Nikita Kucherov has 20 points with 6 goals and 14 assists while Victor Hedman has a pair of goals and 11 assists. Ondrej Balat has 10 points with 6 goals and 4 assists while Ross Colton has 8 points and 5 goals. Steven Stamkos also has 12 points with 6 goals and 6 assists as well this post season. Andrei Vasilevskiy has a 9-5 record with a 0.922 savings ratio and 2.54 GAA this postseason.
New York 1-4 in the last 5 road games and 4-1 in the last 5 games overall while under 8-2 in the last 10 games as an underdog. Tampa Bay is 124-58 in its last 182 games against the Eastern Conference and 50-23 in its last 73 games as a favorite while down 7-1 in its last 8 games overall.
I’ve got a case to support either side here as Lightning took a lot of momentum after a late winner in match three which some would argue might be a backbreak for Rangers in this game. However, New York was the better team for much of Game Three and we were less than a minute into overtime in Game Four. The Rangers haven’t budged and veered against the Great Lightning up to this point and I don’t expect them to be here either. I think this is a one-goal game either way again, so give me New York +1.5.
