The world first learned of the initial lawsuit filed against then-Texas quarterback Deshaun Watson after he revealed the situation on social media in March 2021. Now, after more than two months of silence following the officially announced press conference on the trade that sent him to speak to Cleveland, Watson, with another social media post.

Via ESPN.com’s Kimblerley Martin, Watson quotes these words on his Instagram story: “Look, Blogging can’t break meLook, I’m the voice, I don’t reply. But the rumors I have heard, I humbly deny, yes, yes.”

Watson’s letter comes at a time when his position in the court of public opinion has come under repeated blow, from the filing of two new lawsuits to some unfortunate comments from his lawyers to a new report by Jenny Frentas from The New York Times Which suggests that Watson arranged massages with 66 different women over the course of 17 months.

Watson’s last words are consistent with his vehement denial of the allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against him. They come at a time when the NFL continues to consider whether and to what extent discipline should be imposed on Watson under the Personal Conduct Policy.
