It’s not just golfers who are offered money by LIV Golf. The cans seem to do a good job of themselves, too.
Sports IllustratedBob Harrig shared some details of the canister experience on the fledgling tour in a tweet this afternoon.
“The cans at LIV events are good, too,” Harrig wrote. “Not only are they likely to get a nice commission out of a huge wallet, but all of their expenses are paid for by LIV. Talk to a packer on a European tour which includes travel and accommodations, shuttle to the course, and meals.”
The LIV golf course has sparked controversy over the past several months due to its ties to the Saudi government and its human rights abuses.
In an effort to hunt talent from the PGA Tour, LIV Golf has been tossing out exorbitant contracts for golfers. Dustin Johnson reportedly received $125 million to come in, and Phil Mickelson’s deal is said to be close to $200 million.
The inaugural LIV Golf Tour event will take place this weekend at the Centurion Club in London. Play starts on Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Upcoming stops include Boston, Portland, Bedminster, New Jersey, Chicago, Bangkok, Jeddah and Miami.
