After Oklahoma beat Texas 10-5 in Game 2 of the Women’s College World Series Finals for the second straight championship, the starters can lay claim to being this year’s best wire-to-wire team.
Led by Jocelyn Allo, Oklahoma won 59 regular season games – losing only twice. At the NCAA tournament, they only lost once, and only because UCLA’s Maya Brady decided she was going to take over a game. So when they finally faced their archenemy unseeded Texas in the finals, it definitely seemed like their eventual victory would be a formality. It’s quite clear that our hunch was correct.
During the post-match and post-title celebration, the Sooners danced to “Boomer Buggy” and demonstrated that they are not only heroes on the court, but on the dance floor as well:
