Cast one for Chad Beebe Era, ladies and gentlemen, because it’s officially over with the Minnesota Vikings.
Pepe signed for the Houston Texans on Wednesday, returning to the NFL after missing the entire 2021 season with a leg injury.
Beebe, the son of former Buffalo Bills and future Green Bay Packers widely without Beebe, was signed by the Vikings as an unpolished free agent outside Northern Illinois after the 2018 NFL Draft. He appeared in 20 games over three seasons with the Vikings, 14 of which were in a season. 2020. He earned 26 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns during the 2020 season.
Of all the things Pepe did in Minnesota, he is likely to be remembered best for his performance against the Carolina Panthers at US Bank in Week 12 of the 2020 season. In that game, he blocked a penalty with less than two minutes remaining which allowed the Panthers to increasing their lead to six, 27-21, before receiving a game-winning touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins with less than a minute remaining to secure Minnesota’s 28-27 victory.
Good luck to Chad Beebe in Houston. . . He had a hard time staying in the field for the Vikings, but he put in a solid effort when he was there.
