Seattle Seahawks fans have spent their time watching wide receivers across the NFL and the contract has been extended this season. Players who have signed new deals or added years to their existing contracts include Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Terek Hill, AJ Brown, Christian Kirk and Cooper Cope, to name a few.
Meanwhile, Seahawks fans have seen the cost of a receiver signing a contract keep increasing as the season progresses, all while waiting and watching for a contract extension announcement with DK Metcalf. Instead, what Hawks fans have received this season have been reports of off-season foot surgery, Metcalf skipping a mandatory mini camp, and now contract extension talks have been paused.
wait wait. What was that little again?
So, for those fans who had hoped that Shelby Harris’ contract restructuring was an indication that a Metcalf extension was imminent, it appears not to be the case. In fact, it appears that after making a statement by skipping the minadatory minicamp with an unexcused absence, contract talks with Metcalf may not resume until he shows up for training camp in late July.
Anyway, that’s what it is, and it looks like a big thank you to Metcalf for creating a story to discuss in the summer slump between the end of OTAs and the start of boot camp.
