The semi-final matches are at the gates of the WTA in Den Bosch, Netherlands, and we have two exciting matches in store. All the last four teams have played some exceptional tennis this week, and they all stand a chance of winning the title. As throughout the week, we’ll be giving our predictions for today’s play. So, who booked their place in the final?
WTA semi-final predictions Den Bosch
Ekaterina Alexandrova vs. Veronika Kudermitova
Head to head: Kudermetova 2 – 0 Alexandrova
Alexandrova totally demolished Katie McNally on Friday, and her level was pretty impressive. She obviously came to play this week, and she’ll be looking forward to her first win in this match. Since it’s their first meeting on the lawn, this might be an interesting thing.
Kudermetova seemed domineering at times in her straight sets win over Belinda Bencic, and seemed unfazed by the second seed. The sixth seed is playing some great tennis this week and will be confident heading into this match which currently fits her so well. I can definitely see this guy go the distance, but Kudermetova’s level was excellent against Bencic and she was the favourite here.
Prediction: Kudermetova at 3

Arina Sabalenka vs Shelby Rogers
Face to face: first meeting
Sabalenka scored a hard-fought victory over Van Uytvanck, having to pass a tiebreak in the last set to get the job done. She’s had a shaky year, but wins like this will undoubtedly make her a world of good. As the top seed, she will be looking to put in a solid display of herself at the working end of the tournament.
Shelby Rogers has also played well this week, admirably outperforming Kirsten Flipkens. However, this is a huge step up. Sabalenka is exceptional when she’s high on confidence, like Rogers is. This can go the distance, and it will relate to who has the nerve at crucial moments. I will give preference to Sabalenka, who should be the best player in this match given that her game is for these stadiums.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 3
