NHL Reveals Final Stanley Cup Schedule for Avalanche and Lightning

The Colorado Avalanche will spend a lot of time between hockey games.

After sweeping the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals on June 6, the Avs not only waited for an opponent, they were waiting for a start date for the Stanley Cup Final. The NHL revealed two possible schedules on Friday afternoon, but with Tampa Bay winning the Eastern Conference Saturday night, we now know when and where the avalanche will continue its first Stanley Cup since 2001. Here’s the official list:

Game 1: Wednesday, June 15, 6:00 p.m. Tampa Bay, Colorado (ABC)
Game 2: Saturday, June 18, 6:00 p.m. Tampa Bay, Colorado (ABC)
The third game: Monday, June 20, 6:00 p.m. Colorado in Tampa Bay (ABC)
Fourth game: Wednesday, June 22, 6:00 p.m. Colorado in Tampa Bay (ABC)
Fifth game: Friday, June 24, 6:00 p.m. Tampa Bay, Colorado (ABC)
Game 6: Sunday, June 26, 6:00 p.m. Colorado in Tampa Bay (ABC)
Game 7: Tuesday, June 28, 6:00 p.m. Tampa Bay, Colorado (ABC)

The Colorado swept the Predators in the first round, took care of the Blues in six games in the second round, and then cleaned up the Oilers in the Western Conference Finals. They had eight days off between the Nashville Series and St. Louis, and will now have nine days off during that break.

The last time Avalanche played for the best trophy in the sport, they beat the New Jersey Devils in seven games 21 years ago. The Florida Panthers were also overrun in 1996.

The road to our third Stanley Cup will finally begin on Wednesday night at the Ball Arena!
