The New York Yankees crushed the Chicago Cubs on Sunday to complete their sweep and add to their hot start to June.

In the 18-4 victory, Chicago sent first baseman Frank Schwindle up the hill in eighth to give the Bulls a break in the overall defeat. One of Schwendel’s fields may be among the slowest on record in a Major League Baseball game.

Schwindle was facing Yankees’ Kyle Higashioka when he tossed at Evos 35 mph. There was no way Higashioka would miss the meatball down the middle of the plate. He turned around and sent her over the fence in his second home run of the season.

Running at home was just a dessert for the Yankees.

Matt Carpenter went 3 for 4 with seven RBIs. He hit twice at home in the match and scored three times. He’s hit .333 with six home runs since joining the Yankees earlier in the season. He became the first Yankees player to score six home runs in his first 10 games, and the second major player to score six in his first seven runs since Trevor Storey did so with the Colorado Rockies in 2016.

“I was so confident in what I was doing on the plate, I was hoping that it would probably happen, and now it’s so much fun to see it swing,” he said.
