Serena Williams ‘proud’ after helping British sports platform hit over €56m

23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt have joined forces to help British platform Let’s Do This raise more than €56 million. Williams, one of the greatest tennis players in tennis history, says the sport can have a positive impact in many ways and is thrilled to support Let’s Do This, a platform that aims to help people easily access running, cycling and swimming.

“I love sports and have seen for myself the positive impact it can have on people’s lives. But often they are reluctant to explore sports and the benefits it can bring.” Let’s Do This” breaks down that barrier by allowing people to discover new ways to stay fit, encouraging them to push themselves, and giving a sense of community and camaraderie in the process, regardless of fitness levels.

“This is a mission I’m very proud of – bringing more people together through the power of sport,” Williams said.

Williams invests in Let’s Do This

Sam Brown, co-founder and CEO of Let’s Do This says the platform has big goals and was grateful for the support of tennis great Williams.

The global endurance sports market is estimated to be worth $18 billion, and with head-to-head events likely to finally emerge again after a long hiatus, we know this is only set to grow. As a business, we are not only passionate about sports and live events, we know what it takes to achieve real success, which is why many organizers already trust us to develop their events.

What’s interesting is that sports are just beginning to do this as well. With funding and support from our investors, we plan to expand into other areas of the live events and experience space – continuing our mission to bring people together through truly meaningful experiences.”
