“I see the attractiveness of others to LIV Golf,” Ram said. “I do see some of the points and arguments they could make as to why they prefer it.” “To be honest, part of the format I don’t really like. The three-day shotgun is, to me, not a golf tournament — no cutting. It’s that simple. I want to play against the best player in the world and in format for hundreds of years. That’s what I want to see.”

Ram said he talked about the financial implications of going to LIV Golf, but that he and his wife were happy with the money they got from the PGA Tour. He added that the history and legacy of the tour was something he cared about.

Rory McIlroy unleashes on Golf Leaf, those who have done the PGA Tour: ‘Once you make your bed, you lie on it’

“Yes, money is great… Will our lifestyle change if I get $400 million? No. Not a single thing will change. Truth be told, I can retire now what I made and live a very happy life and never play golf again. I never played golf for reasons Financial I play for the love of the game and I want to play against the best in the world.

“I’ve always been interested in history and legacy, and now the PGA Tour has it. There is a meaning when you win the Memorial Championship. There is a meaning when you win the Arnold Palmer event in Bay Hill. There is meaning when you win Los Angeles, Torrey (Pines), some of these historic places. And that’s For me, it matters a lot.

“My heart is with the PGA Tour.”
