Jurgen Klopp is very happy about the ‘courageous’ Nunez

After a saga that lasted just over a week because Liverpool are not playing, the Reds finally revealed their new signature tonight, and Darwin Nunez was shown online in his new red kit. So there was time for a while bromance on social media Already, fans will be eagerly awaiting the summer to speed up and finish so that Trent Alexander-Arnold can start sending crosses into Nunez’s head.

The player’s new manager wanted to have a word as well, and spoke to the official website about his newest striker.

“This is great news, really great news,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “I am very grateful to everyone at the club for making this happen. We have shown equal determination and ambition.

“Darwin is a great player. Really really good but there is a lot of potential for improvement. That is why it is so exciting, to be honest. His age, his desire, his hunger to be better than he is now. His belief in our project and what we are looking to do as a club.”

“He has all the pieces we’re looking for,” the manager added. “He can set the tempo, he brings energy, he can threaten space from central and wide areas. He’s aggressive and dynamic with his movement. He plays without fear, he’s powerful. I know he’s going to get our fans excited.”

Klopp was quick to pour a bit of coolant on the expectations that naturally accompany huge transfer fees like those inflicted on the 22-year-old, however, making it clear to fans that no matter how good Nunez’s first season was, it is. It will probably get better with time.

“It’s important that we all realize that we’re getting ‘work in progress’ with Darwin. He definitely realizes that himself. I love how focused and humble he is.”

“We have really great attacking options and he’s a part of that now. So there’s absolutely no pressure on him. He’s signing for a very long time and we intend to nurture his talent and see it grow.”

“He’s the latest addition to the fantastic LFC family and I’m sure our fans will make him feel at home from the first moment he puts a Lever on his chest.”

Amen to that, you whore.
