Sane, a product of Ruhrpott, will train with Schalke’s first team

Bayern Munich has a (fairly) end product in Leroy Sane; Sani is the son of two athletes and it’s no surprise that he has a brother in Schalke’s youth system, Sir Sani, capable of running like a maze like the older Sani.

Sidi was a regular player in the Schalke U19 team. As a result, he secured a place with the Germany U-23 national team last season. His impressive stint in the U-23 team led to the young player securing a long-term deal on the official Bundesliga website. For at least two more years, Sidi is set to be a Schalke player.

His impressive tenure earned him the chance to train with the first team during pre-season! Matthias Schober, Schalke’s academy director, mentioned the following about Sidi Sane on

“We are always happy that one of us gets the chance to show off his stuff with the big guys, although he will still be part of the academy so he can train for matches with the Under-23 team.”

It’s great to hear that Schalke will give Sidi time to develop rather than make him sit on the bench with the first team. Sir is not exactly a product of Schalke Academy after all; He joined the youth team of Schalke 04 from the youth team of Bayer Leverkusen, like Leroy himself. Leroy SanĂ© was part of the initially established Schalke team but then joined Leverkusen for three years before finding himself once again in the Schalke youth setup.
