See how the former Michigan Wolverines are performing in MLB, The Palace in 2022

Summer is here, which means the MLB and minor league seasons are in full swing.

There are currently two former Michigan Wolverines on the Major League rosters, while more than a dozen of them are in the Minors with their sights set on a single day reaching the major leagues.

Here is a list of every former Wolverine player in professional baseball and how they performed in 2022. Several of them played under Eric Bakish, who is said to have accepted the head coaching position at Clemson after a 10-year stint at Ann Arbor. Under Bakich’s leadership, Michigan has had at least two players selected in every draft, including a program record of 11 in 2017.

In the previous three drafts, the Wolverines had eight players selected in the first five rounds, many of whom were instrumental in helping the team reach the College World Series final in 2019.

Jake Cronnorth (San Diego Padres)

Years in Michigan: 3 (2013-15)

2022 stats: 61 games, 230 hit rate, 6 hours, 37 RBIs, 0.690 OPS

informationsClair’s native became an instant success story once he made it to the major leagues in 2020, placing third in the National League New Player of the Year vote after hitting .285 with four home runs, 20 RBI and .831 OPS in 54 games. There was no slack in Cronworth’s sophomore year in 2021 as the 28-year-old was named an All-Star. Despite his numbers dropping in 2022, the 2015 seventh-round pick remains a focal point at the top of the Padres standings and has a 1.9 WAR.

LHP Rich Hill (Boston Red Sox)

Years in Michigan: 3 (2000-02)

2022 stats: 11 G/GS, 2–3 record, 49 1/3 runs, 4.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 40 strokes

informations: Hill continues to rebel at age 42. The skilled left-back is the second oldest in MLB and is still effective when on the hill. Hill, a fourth-round pick in 2002, was in his 18th season and has a career record of 76-55 with 3.82 ERAs in 1,184 innings. He hit 1225.

informationsThe selection of the 19th round for 2021 is a strong start to his professional career. The 23-year-old has started nine of the 10 matches he has made this season with Lansing Lugnots. The Bears had a 6.56 ERA with 58 strikes in 71 1/3 runs as Wolverine.

Shortstop Jack Bloomgreen (Colorado Rockies)

Years in Michigan: 3 (2018-20)

2022 stats (Double-A): 6 g, .353 hit medium, 1 home run, 5 RBIs, 1,068 OPS

informations: Blomgren was an integral part of Michigan’s 2019 run to the College World Series and was selected in the fifth round of the 2020 Draft. The 23-year-old was off to a strong start in 2022 before being named to the injured list for 7 days on May 29. Bloomgreens also has a strong entry-level campaign in 2021, coming in at 0.284 by 406 in base. 86 games in High A.

RHP James Burke (Chicago Cubs)

Years in Michigan: 3 (2014-16)

2022 stats (Triple-A): 0-0, 3.24 ERA, 8 1/3 innings, 1.56 WHIP, 16 hits

informations: Porky had a cup of coffee on the majors in 2019 and 2020 with the Washington Nationals, totaling seven appearances, 4 2/3 runs and 13.50 afternoons. The Ann Arbor native was in his sixth season in the minor league and had a run of 4.22 ERA in 352 runs. He hit 356.

Outfielder Jordan Brewer (Houston Astros)

informations: Brewer played junior college baseball in his first two seasons before emerging as the top MLB draft during his only season in Ann Arbor. He was a citizen of St.

The 2019 third-round pick was called up to the Double A on June 6 and has four hits in the 15 at-bats. In his 109 professional minor league games, Brewer has netted .249 with 12 home runs, 61 RBI, .746 OPS and 29 stolen bases.

RHP Jeff Criswell (Oakland A’s)

2022 stats (High-A): 2-3, 10 G/GS, 3.78 ERA, 50 ROUNDS, 1.10 WHIP, 58 HITS

informations: Criswell dominated Michigan in 2019 with a 7-1 record and 2.72 ERA and was drafted in the second round after the 2020 season shortened the pandemic. The Portage native only threw 12 rounds as a rookie for Lansing Lugnuts in 2021.

Catcher Joe Donovan (Chicago Cubs)

Years in Michigan: 3 (2018-20)

Outfielder Ryan LaMarre (New York Yankees)
