General Support Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Scotty Scheffler

We’ve had a day off since the start of the story-filled US Open at the Country Club in Brooklyn, Massachusetts, and bettors love their chances with the players who did so well last week on the PGA Tour.

Of course, there were a couple of important golf tournaments last week, but it looks like the public is putting more faith in last week’s TOUR battle at the RBC Canadian Open between Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas.

Only three golfers have won the week before and after a major tournament since 2000: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and McIlroy.

Scotty Scheffler didn’t contend for the win last week in Canada, but his finish in T18 combined with his Masters win and three other wins at the PGA TOUR in 2022 earned him the support of the bookies as well.

Last week’s champion McIlRoy took 5.7% of the bet tickets and 8.0% of the handle in BetMGM, while Thomas took 5.8% of the tickets and 8.3% of the handle. Scheffler trails behind with 5.3% and 6.6%.

LIV Golf’s top player, Dustin Johnson, drew 2.1% of pot tickets and 2.2% of the handle.

In terms of entertainment value, this has to be one of the most followed major tournaments in recent years as the ongoing fight between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf continues.

It is not only the CEOs, but also the players, who had the opportunity to say their article on this issue.

We’re in for a real golf tournament experience, and if stake percentages are any indication, the audience is siding with the PGA Tour.

Let’s see how it all unfolds.
