If someone gives me $200 million, I’ll be killed soon – OutKick

Don’t Make a Thing About It: Charles Barkley is all about the bag.

So much so, that he’ll make a crazy effort if it means securing his good paycheck. With PGA Tour competitors like Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson approaching greener pastures at the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf International Series for big money, golf enthusiast Barkley said he sees no problem with that.

Barkley appeared in the Friday edition of Pat McAfee Show He said he would be “killed soon” if someone gave him nine numbers. Mickelson is reported to have earned around $200 million to play at LIV Golf, while Johnson’s stated figure is more than $100 million.

“I don’t judge others. Listen, if someone gave me $200 million, I would be killed soon,” Barclay said. “I’m serious. They say Phil Mickelson got $200 million, Dustin Johnson got $150 million, for $150 I’d kill soon, even if I loved him.”

The Inside the NBA The TNT analyst continued, saying he’d like to see LIV golfers play in the US Open at the top of the leaderboard.

“I want all of the LIV guys to top the leaderboard,” Barkley said. “I want to see the PGA Tour rocking in their damn shoes. Listen, I’m not a religious guy but I want to mess around this weekend at the US Open.”

Well, about that, Chuck. You see, the country club in Brooklyn, Massachusetts was tough on the field for Leaf golfers. Mickelson 78 and 73 in Rounds 1 and 2 left him outside the cut-off, finishing 11-over after 36 holes.

After shooting 68 in round 1, Johnson shot 73 on Friday and found himself over one and a T-31 for the championship. Of the 15 golfers who participated in the tournament, only four found themselves playing over the weekend: Johnson, Patrick Reed, Bryson Deschamps and Richard Bland.
