Tiger Woods continues to prepare for the last major tournament of the year next month, the Open Championship at the famous Old St Andrews Stadium. Tiger recently stopped the course and snapped this photo with a young fan. The scars from his car accident in February 2021 were on full display.
Tiger has only played two tournaments since the car accident. In April, he claimed the Masters win, but struggled in the last two rounds, shooting 78 on Saturday and Sunday to finish 47th on aggregate. In May, Tiger rolled it out at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Well for the PGA Championship. He shot a 69 on Friday and cut again, but on Saturday, he experienced leg pain and shot his home 79. He withdrew from the tournament after that round.
Tiger said he plans to play for JP McManus Pro Am in Ireland a week before the Open. The 150th Open will take place in St. Andrews, where Woods won the event in 2000 and 2005. He has cited St. Andrews as his favorite track to play.
If Tiger could keep the ball in the lane, St Andrews would be a fairly flat walk. He knows all the nooks and crannies around the earth. If there was any place Tiger Woods could have captured in the past, then July 14th in Scotland might be exactly that place.
