‘You don’t need his advice’ – Venus and Serena Williams ‘Father ‘King’ Richard have received massive criticism from American star Jennifer Capriati

Former American tennis player Jennifer Capriati was one of the best tennis players of her era. She won three Grand Slam titles and a gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The 46-year-old made her debut in 1990, at the age of 13 years and 11 months. She topped the WTA rankings in 2002 and was a mainstay in the top ten until 2004, after which her career went off track and she retired from professional tennis.

In her playing days, Capriati was a daring nature and never hesitated to give it back to critics. In 2002, Richard Williams, Serena Williams’ father, made a remark about Capriati. It didn’t go well with the former world number one, and she gave an apt answer.

Jennifer Capriati slams Richard Williams for his insulting comments

The Citizens have always played a very difficult game. However, Richard Williams, in particular, was not a fan of her behavior. Williams sister’s father said,

“Capriati must stop taking the oath in court and listen to her father.” In response to the insensitive remark, the 46-year-old criticized Richard for attacking her with personal remarks.

Serena’s infamous blast on chair rule

While playing in the 2004 US Open quarterfinals against Capriati, Serena exploded into the president’s judgment due to a controversial decision. Notably, Serena served mid-match in the middle of the match, striking a backhand which, she said, was evident in it. However, the chair referee reversed the call of the chief of lines and gifted the point to Capriati.

While it caused quite a controversy, Serena asserts that she was cheated and robbed that day. However, it has been a long time since this incident now. After a long hiatus of more than a year, Serena will return to the court to play in Wimbledon 2022.
