Prince Harry knew when Meghan Markle was his soulmate
“It has been my lifeline, a place where I have found peace.”
Prince Harry gives a little insight into the beginnings of his relationship with Meghan Markle.
While giving a speech at the United Nations recently, Harry opened up about his passion for Africa – which actually played a role in his romance with Meghan.
Harry explained that not only did he feel closest to his mother, the late Princess Diana, on the Continent, but it was also there that he realized he would be marrying Meghan.
“For most of my life this has been my lifeline, a place where I have found peace and healing time and time again,” Harry said during his speech.
He added: “It was where I felt closest to my mother and sought comfort after her death, and where I knew I had found a kindred spirit in my wife. “
Thinking back to the couple’s relationship, their first trip to Africa, when Harry seemingly realized his realization, came after they went on a few dates together.
Harry previously revealed the couple traveled together to Botswana, where they got to know each other while camping under the stars.
“I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana. We camped together under the stars. She came to join me for five days there, which was absolutely fantastic,” said Harry.
He added: “We were really alone which was crucial for me to make sure we had a chance to get to know each other.”
Since then, Meghan and Harry have returned to Africa, a place Harry now calls a “second home”.
