Chelsea Handler Announces Split From Jo Koy Before Her 1st Birthday: ‘It’s Best We Take a Break’

Chelsea Handler revealed the end of her relationship with comedian boyfriend Jo Koy on Monday in a video shared on Instagram, which was filmed before they decided to break up.

“In anticipation of celebrating our first year together, Jo and I recorded this video early, but as many of you have noticed, it is with heavy hearts to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now,” she shared with her four million followers.

“I know many of you have been invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much that still means. And how much I now believe in love for each of us. .”

Handler wrote that Koy “opened my heart with love” and credited him with changing his life experience “forever”.

The pair first met through mutual friends over 20 years ago, then worked together on their former E! late night show, “Chelsea Lately”.

“Being loved and adored by @jokoy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life,” she continued. “He renewed my faith in men, in love, in being 100% who I am, and I’ve never been more optimistic about the future.

“Jo- you opened my creativity, my desire to work hard again, to be on the road again, and you reminded me of who I was and always have been, and my feet have never been so firmly rooted in the ground.”

Handler and Koy were rumored to be an item after they were spotted at a Los Angeles Dodgers game in August 2021, only to have their relationship go Instagram official later that month.

A source told People magazine that their entourage is crossing their fingers for a reconciliation.
