Kristin Cavallari admits she uses Instagram DMs as a dating app
It goes down in the DM.
Kristin Cavallari has admitted that her Instagram account has been a reliable source for matchmaking lately – but she’s “not going to settle” for anything less than a blue tick.
“I’ve actually been on quite a few dates,” the 35-year-old reality TV star and jewelry designer told Amanda Hirsch on Dear Media’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast on Tuesday.
“My DMs have basically been my dating app,” she added, prompting Hirsch to ask if she sorts out messages from those who are “verified only?”
“Yeah, no, unfortunately,” the “Laguna Beach” alum replied with a chuckle. “Sorry, I’ll only go for the verified!”
Cavallari confessed it was just “easier” this way, noting, “I can’t filter all my DMs, but I can see those blue checkmarks, honey!”
Cavallari explained that her “ideal guy” is not another celebrity. Instead, she’s looking for “a businessman no one knows about.”
“I went on a date with a businessman in Nashville, actually,” she quickly realized. “But we will see. I don’t often like people, and I’m pretty picky I guess, but I’m not going to settle. I will remain picky.
Following her April 2020 split from former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler — with whom she shares three children — the ‘Hills’ alum said she quietly ‘dated someone right away’ and that the romance lasted “about five, six months”.
After her relationship with the mystery man ended, the former ‘Very Cavallari’ star wasted no time moving on with Jeff Dye — an Instagram-verified podcaster she met online.
“And then Jeff, who was unknown, I dated Jeff for five, six months right after this other guy,” Cavallari explained. “And then I didn’t have a date at all for a while.”
The Uncommon James founder revealed she got back into the love game this year and has been “actively dating” since March.
“I’ve been pretty able to keep things on the DL lately, which is good,” she said, adding that she was “dating someone for a few months” while she ” kept going on other dates.”
Cavallari and Cutler, 39, said “I do” in June 2013 before having sons Camden, 9, and Jaxon, 8, and daughter Saylor, 6.
After “10 years together,” they announced their divorce with a joint statement on Instagram, explaining that they had simply separated.
It’s unclear if their divorce is final, but Cutler bragged about throwing a divorce party last month “when the settlement was reached.”
