Whereas Halloween ends pits Michael Myers against Laurie Strode once again, a new character named Corey Cunningham also enters the mix. After the 2021 split halloween killsBlumhouse and director David Gordon Green are looking to end at least this stage of the Halloween franchise on a high note. Few people actually believe it will be the last Halloween film on hold, but what seems likely is that Halloween ends will be the last time that Jamie Lee Curtis will portray his iconic character of Laurie Strode.
The trailer for Halloween ends gives the impression that the sequel focuses on a final battle between Michael and Laurie, but the official synopsis contradicts this impression, mentioning that the plot is boosted by a young man named Corey Cunningham. Corey is framed for the murder of a boy he was babysitting, which leads to more violence and mayhem. It is not known if Corey is in the Halloween ends trailer, as many of the people featured are seen in split-second cuts that aren’t well-lit.
Numerous reports say that Corey is the new boyfriend of Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson, but that doesn’t seem to have been officially confirmed by anyone involved with the film. From the synopsis, however, it seems possible that Corey is a Michael Myers impersonator, which could bring the real Michael back to wherever he’s been since. halloween kills ended. Interestingly, if Blumhouse and Green go this route, it would be similar to a plot point from an early script for Halloween H20 in which a Myers impersonator eventually lures the boogeyman himself. Rohan Campbell was cast as Corey Cunningham in Halloween ends – a 24-year-old Canadian actor who currently plays his older brother Frank Hardy on Hulu’s Rugged Boys TV show. Halloween ends is by far Campbell’s biggest gig to date, although he has made one-off appearances on numerous television shows, including Supernatural, iZombie, The 100and snowdrops. Allyson Strode actress Andi Matichak is 28, so in that regard Corey seems like a logical candidate to be her new partner.
If Corey ends up being the primary focus of Halloween endsBlumhouse and David Gordon Green should prepare for a major backlash, as Halloween film without much of Michael Myers inexplicably still alive risks alienating fans of the iconic slasher. On the other hand, from a purely narrative point of view, this turning point could at least offer something different from Halloween 2018 and halloween kills. Whether or not something different will be what audiences want remains to be seen.
