10 Famous Couples Who Had Babies After Breakup

That’s exactly what happened to quite a few celebrity couples, all of whom called it quits just before their baby was born. While it’s obviously been a tough time for mom and dad, most of them have happily stayed together to co-parent their new additions.

Here’s what happened after the breakup for these celebrity couples…

1. Khloe Kardashian & Tristan Thompson

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson may have called it quits for good at the end of 2021, but it was recently announced that the former couple are set to become parents for the second time. It turns out that before their split, Khloé and Tristan tried to conceive using a surrogate. In November 2021, just a month before Tristan’s paternity scandal, the surrogate fell pregnant. The exes have decided to go ahead with the pregnancy and the baby is due this summer.

“We can confirm that True will have a brother who was conceived in November. Khloé is incredibly grateful to the amazing surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We would like to ask for your kindness and privacy so that Khloé can focus on his family,” the rep said in a statement.

2. Tom Brady & Bridget Moynahan

Tom Brady and Bridget Moynahan dated for three years before splitting in December 2006 – when Bridget was early in her pregnancy. Two months later, her rep confirmed she was pregnant with the couple’s first child and in August she gave birth to John Edward Thomas Moynahan. Looking back, Bridget says coping with the scrutiny was difficult, especially since Tom was already dating his future wife Gisele Bündchen.

“Going through this traumatic time of having my heart broken and then being pregnant has turned my whole life upside down and just took my breath away. But I’ve taken so much away from it. It’s golden and it’s hard and c was screwed. But now I have a kid, and it’s the best thing in the world,” Bridget told Harper’s Bazaar.

3. Elon Musk & Grimes

Elon Musk and Grimes started dating in 2018 and two years later welcomed their first child, X Æ A-12. In 2021 the couple announced they were going their separate ways – but in December that year they revealed they had welcomed another child via surrogate. The news of their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, surprised the public, but it turns out the couple had conceived using a surrogate before deciding to go their separate ways.

“Riverdale” star Vanessa Morgan announced her pregnancy in early 2020 and a few months later her husband Michael Kopech filed for divorce. Although they haven’t commented on the reasoning behind their split, Vanessa appeared to go through much of the pregnancy alone. She celebrated special milestones solo, like when she revealed the baby’s gender on Instagram. When she gave birth in January, her rep said Michael came to her side.

5. Heidi Klum & Flavio Briatore

In 2003, Heidi Klum briefly dated Italian businessman Flavio Briatore. The couple announced they were pregnant with their first child at the end of the year, but by the time their daughter Leni was born, the couple had separated. At the time of Leni’s birth, Heidi was already dating Seal, who stepped in to help raise the little girl.

“People said I was such a good person, so brave. Honestly, I don’t see it that way. first time in my life, I had a totally clear relationship and I knew exactly what I had to do,” Seal later said.

6. Christina Milian & The dream

Christina Milian and The-Dream married in September 2009 while expecting their first child. The couple welcomed their daughter in February – but unbeknownst to fans, they had actually split months before. Christina and The-Dream later revealed that they split just months after getting married. The paperwork was finally submitted just days before Christina was due.

“The couple made this decision in late 2009, but have decided to keep the news confidential in order to protect their baby daughter, Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family in the future,” the rep for The -Dream in a statement.

Kevin Federline and Shar Jackson were engaged and pregnant with their second child when they called it quits, apparently because Kevin had started dating Britney Spears. Shar ended up giving birth just months before Britney and Kevin tied the knot. At the time Shar said she wasn’t bitter and she believed that everything happened for a reason.

“If you read something negative that I supposedly said, it’s probably not true. That’s not how I live my life, because I’m a very positive person. I believe that God makes everything happen for a reason, the way it’s supposed to. I’m cool with it, so I don’t have bad feelings. I’m not bitter. I’m none of that,” Shar said. at MTV at the time.

Mary-Louise Parker and Billy Crudup dated for more than six years before announcing they were expecting their first child. But when Mary-Louise was seven months pregnant with their son, Billy left her for Claire Danes. In her memoir, “Dear Mr. You,” Mary-Louise described her fragile emotional state while recounting a solo taxi ride to the doctor.

“I’m pregnant and alone. It hurts even to breathe…I’m trying to get out of it but I’m all alone every night and every morning and no one, nothing helps…I can’t no more putting on my shoes…I realize now that everything I was going through was part of my life, a piece of a bigger story that is mostly beautiful,” she wrote.

Kelis was married to Nas for four years before filing for divorce when she was seven months pregnant with their first child. At the time, she referred to “irreconcilable differences”. She eventually gave birth to their son Knight in 2009.

“I was married. It didn’t work out. The most amazing thing came out of it. I’m good with it. He’ll never read anywhere that I said anything negative about his dad . It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. ‘Cause at the end of the day, he needs to know that he came from love,” Kelis reportedly said.
