eBookorPrint.com pledges up to $250,000 to help disadvantaged authors get their books published
New York, New York–(Newsfile Corp. – July 23, 2022) – Jerry Reid, CEO of eBookorPrint, announced a new financial initiative of up to $250,000 to help disadvantaged authors get published. The funding will be used to provide authors with financial support, services and industry advice.
This new initiative will begin funding authors in 2023. Currently, funding will go to authors who already have writing abilities but are unable to follow the path of a full-time author due to being disadvantaged . Society does not limit the definition of disadvantage to income factors alone.
“The reason we’re not just looking for low-income writers is because we think disadvantage can take a variety of forms,” Reid said. “Writers who may have difficulty typing due to injury or disability can record their story on voice notes, while we pay for the transcription or provide the labor for the transcription. In this arrangement, eBookorPrint reviews the manuscript, designs the cover, and provides the funded author with a published book that is 100% owned by the author. Depending on the author’s circumstances, a stipend may also be paid to help make meet the needs of daily life.
Solid funding is needed to help content in written form get more attention. This is due to the inherent weakness of text which is less able to instantly capture attention than video or audio.
Reid continues, “We hope that more funding like this can be made available to budding authors. Funding like this not only allows great writers to embark on careers they never thought possible. given their current situation, but also helps spread great ideas and great writing that readers benefit from.”
In the initial phase, no spontaneous applications will be accepted. Selected and approved charities, nonprofits, and educational institutions will be able to submit profiles of potential aspiring authors for consideration.
