Shahs of Sunset’s Mike Shouhed accused of domestic violence
mike shouhedThe legal troubles continue.
The Sunset Shahs alum now faces 14 criminal charges, including domestic violence, according to legal documents obtained by E! New. Filed on July 20, the charges – to which he pleaded not guilty – come about four months after he was arrested and charged with an unspecified crime.
Shouhed’s lawyer, Alex Kessel, denied domestic violence allegations after the reality TV star was arrested on March 27. In a statement to E! News on April 4, he said, “At this time, the only comment I can make with confidence is that my client did not commit an act of domestic violence in any way and the truth will prevail.”
Shouhed’s alleged victim has not been publicly identified, but Joshua Ritter, a lawyer for Shouhed’s fiancée, Paulina Ben Cohen, released a statement to E! News on July 26 in response to the latest developments in the case. “Paulina’s main goal is to keep herself and her children safe,” Ritter said. “She supports the work done by the police and the city attorney’s office and continues to cooperate with them, while looking forward to putting this sad situation behind her and moving on with her life.”

Ritter provided E! News with a similar statement in April, noting that he and Ben-Cohen were, at the time, working “with authorities to seek a just and fair outcome to this sad situation.”
Shouhed was first taken into custody on March 27 and charged around 1:05 a.m. the next day, according to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records. Hours later, he posted his $50,000 bond and was released.
Now Shouhed not only faces a domestic violence charge, but also a series of misdemeanors. These include intimidation of a witness or victim and criminal stockpiling of a firearm, among other charges.
Sunset Shahs fans were first introduced to Shouhed during the Bravo series’ inaugural season. He remained a recurring cast member throughout Season 9, the last to air before the show went on “indefinite hiatus,” as a source told E! News April 7.
E ! News has reached out to Shouhed’s attorney for comment.
