Sylvester Stallone slams latest Rocky spin-off, calls producers ‘parasites’
Rock star Sylvester Stallone is extremely upset over the new Rocky and Creed spin-off, dubbed the owners of the franchise “parasites” and called out Dolph Lundgren for not telling him about the film’s plans in advance.
After hearing about Drago – the upcoming movie starring Dolph Lundgren and Florian Munteanu, Stallone went on a damning rant via Instagram:
“Heartbreaker…I’ve only just found out…ONCE AGAIN, IRWIN WINKLER, this 94 year old PATHETIC PRODUCER and HIS MORONIC VULTURE CHILDREN, Charles and David, are once again selecting THE BONES of another wonderful character that I created without even telling me,” he said. “I apologize to the FANS, I never meant for ROCKY characters to be exploited by these pests… By the way, I used to have nothing but respect for Dolph but he NEVER spoke to me about what was happening behind my back with the character I created for him!!! TRUE FRIENDS Are more precious than gold.
Stallone is clearly unimpressed with the news of the upcoming Creed spin-off – a film that will focus on father and son Russian boxing duo Ivan and Viktor Drago. Irwin Winkler is one of the producers of the Rocky franchise, and who probably participated in the launch of this spin-off.
“WINKLER and FAMILY SUCKS ROCKY DRY!” he added in a separate post, describing Winkler as a blood-draining vampire from Rocky Balboa. “Presumed to be the most hated, talentless, decrepit [sic], Hollywood producer and his cowardly children have found their next meal… Draco? Throughout history, so many artists from all industries, from recording, painting, writing, etc. were destroyed by those bloodsuckers who destroyed so many families, lining their pockets with the work of other people. #parasitic producers #exploited artists victims.
Stallone expressed his displeasure with the current state of the Rocky franchise. Just last month, he took to social media to help him get the rights to the series he created. Stallone has already given up on appearing in Creed 3.
After Lundgren’s appearance in Creed 2, it’s no surprise to see him back in the franchise proper. He’d also been teasing a Draco spin-off for some time, so that shouldn’t really come as a surprise to Stallone…at least, if he’d been paying attention.
However, it looks like Lundgren and Stallone have already smoothed things over:
“Just to set the record straight regarding a possible Drago spinoff,” Lundgren said via Instagram. “There is no approved script, no agreements in place, no director and I personally felt like my friend Sly Stallone was involved as a producer or even as an actor. was leaked to the press last week, which is unfortunate In Touch With Mr. Balboa – just so all the fans can relax… There you go.
The weirdest training methods from the Rocky and Creed movies
Creed 2 starred Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, with Sylvester Stallone returning as former heavyweight champion turned trainer Rocky Balboa.
The sequel saw Adonis take on the son of Ivan Drago – the former Russian champion, Rocky’s nemesis, and the man who ultimately killed Adonis’ father with a knockout blow during a match. from exhibition at Rocky 4. Florian Munteanu played the role of Viktor Drago and is expected to return in the upcoming Creed 3.
Creed 3 has already been pushed back from its November release date and is now set to debut in March next year.
