Nightwing voice actor Harvey Guillén celebrates his role as Batman’s former sidekick in Harley Quinn Season 3 by sharing some “thic” fan art.
Nightwing actor Harvey Guillén celebrated his role in the HBO animated series harley quinn with some “thic” fan art.
Following Guillén’s dramatic debut as the great Dick Grayson, the actor took to Twitter to retweet fan-made content featuring the former Boy Wonder. The image, by artist Christian Cimoroni, featured a voluptuous version of Dick Grayson. The superhero’s “thicc” fan design quickly drew a series of approving comments from the actor and fans alike.
Season 3 of harley quinn marks Nightwing’s first appearance and staying true to form, the series was quick to poke fun at the character with Quinn launching into his monologue at every opportunity. Guilén’s portrayal of the character is very quickly established as the overly dramatic older brother of the Bat-Family, reluctantly returning to Gotham after failing as a solo hero. Grayson’s attempts to maintain a dark and brooding facade are quickly halted not only by Harley Quinn and Ivy, but also by his own teammates as he tries to reintegrate and learn how to work with a team again.
Viewers quickly jumped to Twitter, saying harley quinnNightwing’s version as “Nightwing’s peak writing”. Guillén responded to many of them, describing the hero as Season 3’s “The Drama” while praising the show’s writers, calling them “amazing balls.”
Nightwing isn’t the only Robin to be parodied in Season 3. Joker’s gruesome murder of Jason Todd also makes an appearance in passing, referencing DC’s darker timelines in a tongue-in-cheek way. Batman’s family seems to grow steadily over the course of the series, with Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl and Damien Wayne’s Robin reappearing in recent episodes. Showrunner Patrick Schumacker said in a recent interview that he wants more Bat-Family in future seasons.
