Brad Pitt is ‘proud’ that his daughter Zahara is going to Spelman College

Brad Pitt feels “proud” that his daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 17, is heading to Spelman College.
“I’m so proud of her. She’s so smart. She’s going to blossom even more in college,” Pitt said in an interview with Vanity Fair at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie “Bullet Train.” ” Monday.
“It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find your own path and pursue your interests,” he added.
Spelman College, founded in 1881, is a private, historically black institution in Atlanta, Georgia that bills itself as “a world leader in the education of women of African descent.” Morehouse College, which is located next to the school, is considered Spelman’s sister institution. Together, the schools are often referred to by the nickname “Spelhouse” in the HBCU community.
Pitt reflected on how he felt about one of his daughters growing up on the red carpet. “Where does the time go, right? They grow up too fast. It brings tears to your eyes,” he told Vanity Fair.
Pitt isn’t the only parent celebrating Zahara’s big news. Jolie-Pitt’s mother, Angelina Jolie, recently announced that her daughter was attending school by posting a photo of Zahara with her “Spelman sisters” on her Instagram page.
Jolie celebrated her daughter’s acceptance to Spelman with alumni from Spelman College and Morehouse College in the Los Angeles area. A clip of the actress learning to ride the electric slide during the Spelhouse celebration was posted on the HBCU Watch The Yard community’s TikTok page.
Jolie and Pitt wed in 2014. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 and the two were declared legally single in 2019, although the case is still ongoing as they resolve custody issues. In addition to Zahara, the actors also co-parent Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, Knox, 14, and Vivienne, 14.
Zahara will be the second of the Jolie-Pitt children to leave for college; Maddox enrolled at Yonsei University in South Korea in 2019.
