Kristin Cavallari calls marriage to Jay Cutler ‘toxic’ and warns not to ‘ignore red flags’

Kristin Cavallari wants to remind fans that she didn’t have a good marriage to former football quarterback Jay Cutler.
In a new podcast episode of “Call Her Daddy,” Cavallari warns people to listen to their intuition.
The relationship between the reality star and athlete saw the ex-couple get engaged in 2011, only to briefly split, reunite, have their first child and wed in two years.
Cavallari said: “I called off the engagement for the same reason I got divorced… If there’s anything to take from this: You can’t ignore red flags. People don’t change. And you have to trust your instincts.”

The two divorced in 2020. The Uncommon James creator, who shares three children with Cutler, is aware that her children could be affected based on what she says about their father.
On the podcast, Cavallari revealed, “Because I have three kids with him, I’m very careful what I say… My eldest now googles us.”
Cavallari had one thing to say though.
“It was toxic. I think period, end of story.”

Cavallari says her mother knew her relationship with Cutler had issues, but hid the relationship’s issues from friends. She notes that before her divorce, she had been thinking about it for three years.
And although she and Cutler have moved on, the reality star said it was difficult at first to see her ex-husband dating.
She did, however, clarify, “I hope he finds someone, really. I mean my kids are enjoying it.”
Cavallari says she wants Cutler to remarry.
And while Cavallari hopes Cutler will have a newfound happiness forever, she reflects on her tumultuous time with him, saying, “I was in an unhealthy relationship, and to me, it’s not worth it.”
