At the Deception offices, BLQ says the Sasha news has hit the media, so they need to make a statement. Together, Maxie and Brook Lynn prepare a statement dedicated to defending their Deception family while supporting mental health causes with a million dollar donation. BLQ then apologizes to send it to public relations.
Maxie confides in Lucy that she is happy that Martin represents Sasha. Lucy praises her work, but Martin also sees the big picture, which means protecting them all. Lucy thinks it’s best for Sasha to step down as the face of the company. She swears that Sasha will always be their friend and partner, but that’s just business. Maxie tells her that as the head of this company, she can tell Sasha.

Dante finds Chase floating in the Metro Court pool. Chase asks if he spoke to his friend at the Community Review Board. Dante did, and his guy inside feels the chances of Chase getting his badge back are slim. Chase feels defeated but must find a way to pay his rent. Dante asks if that means he’s taking a job outside of the force. Linc appears and notes, “Good thing he has options.” Dante orders Linc to get lost. Chase asks for a moment with Linc, so Dante leaves, but not before advising his partner not to lose his temper again.
Linc informs Chase that he has already booked her a gig at the Savoy and has his sights set on a bigger venue in New York next. BLQ arrives as Linc tells Chase that when he’s done marketing him, everyone will want to be him and be with him. Brook Lynn states that Chase is more than a piece of meat, he’s a fine artist.
Linc lays out his plans to start recording a track for Chase immediately, resulting in instant revenue. He also offers to fund his studio time, vocal training, and wardrobe. BLQ teases that she can offer Chase something better, herself. She says she is also a songwriter and they could collaborate and share the benefits of writing. She walks away to give him time to think and Dante grabs her.
Dante applauds Brook Lynn’s small performance but recognizes a crook when he sees one. Brook Lynn swears Chase has a future as a songwriter, but Dante wants to know what game she’s really playing. Meanwhile, Linc warns Chase not to play a player because he sees exactly what BLQ is doing.

At Metro Court Gardens, Spinelli and Sam meet to discuss his latest case. As she acquaints him with Felicia’s suggestions, he is fascinated by Cody and Britt. Sam calls him and asks him what’s going on with him. Spinelli does not trust Cody, but she notes that he is Dante’s oldest friend and that Leo loves him. She wants him to focus on their work trip, but he claims he’s far too busy to leave town. Sam asks him exactly what he’s been doing for work lately.
Spinelli masterfully redirects the conversation to how things are going between her and Dante. She admits that he invited her to move in, and she is hesitant to do so because things are going so well as they are now. Maxie appears and joins them and sees Britt with Cody by the pool. She thinks they seem to get along well, and she likes Cody. Sam agrees, and Spinelli confesses that they couldn’t be more wrong. He storms off.
Cody talks to Britt, who tells Cody she doesn’t love him. Cody admits he doesn’t always say the right things, but she’s ruthless when it comes to human frailty. He asks her to look at things from her opinion. He admits he went too far on his date trying to impress her, but she accepted his apology. Then she found a way to be mad at him again, and he feels like she punishes people who don’t live up to her ridiculously high standards.
Britt confesses that he has her number and that she intentionally avoids people most of the time. He tells her that means people don’t know her. He then presents her with the card he made. She can’t believe he was carrying her just in case he bumped into her, and wonders how he knew she would be there. He claims that Maxie told him about their brunch date. She opens the card, which is an excuse, and asks for another chance. She thinks he’ll never take no for an answer, so she chooses the restaurant and the meal this time.
Sam and Maxie approach Britt and Cody, and Britt pushes Maxie aside. She asks if she forgot their brunch. Maxie explains that she was doing damage control at work and Britt says she’s sorry about Sasha. Maxie is excited when Britt shows her the present Cody gave her and learns that they are going on a second date.
Britt grabs a pool chair and Maxie joins Cody and Sam. He thanks them for their support, which he doesn’t get from their friend Spinelli. Sam asks if he knows why Spinelli seems to hate him so. Cody claims he has no idea. Meanwhile, Spinelli approaches Britt and warns her not to date Cody again.

In the PCPD interrogation room, Martin gives Sasha coffee so she can look clean, but she sits speechless and in a catatonic state. Outside, Gladys brings Brando fresh clothes for Sasha. Martin walks out of the room and goes through the list of charges Sasha faces, including attempted murder.
Gladys heads to the interrogation room with clothes for Sasha, who remains stoic. They head to the squad room and a women’s room for her to change, later returning to the interrogation room.
Brando asks Martin how they are going to beat these charges. The lawyer admits they can’t. Martin notes that Sasha’s dash cam video has gone viral and she needs to demonstrate her commitment to intensive therapy and restitution. Brando doesn’t know if Sasha can handle it. Martin understands and there’s only one other way to keep her out of jail. He explains that someone could become Sasha’s tutor.

She is so tired of being taken advantage of. Gladys understands but asks if she’s not so tired of feeling out of control. On the terrace of a café, Gregory meets Alexis to find out who won their little bet. She hands him a tablet, and while Gregory has his criticisms, she admits he barely squealed by the winner. He reminds her that this means taking some of her suggestions to heart.
Gregory brings up Sasha’s incident and asks why it wasn’t mentioned in the newspaper. Alexis wants to tell the whole story and tells him he doesn’t know Smoltz and his tactics. She wouldn’t be surprised if Smoltz pushed Sasha on the attack. Gregory says he was still the target of violence, and that’s newsworthy.
Alexis notes that if they only tell the facts about what happened, it won’t do Sasha any good. Alexis recounts what Sasha has been through over the past year, which frames this incident differently. She is stunned when Gregory agrees that the story cannot be told without framing Sasha’s state of mind. Alexis doesn’t know how to do this without violating medical confidentiality laws. Gregory says it’s tricky but it can be done. Alexis jokes at school, so educate her.
