Heather Rae El Moussa Reunites With Husband Tarek After Admitting To “Separation Anxiety”

Heather Rae El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa reunited after returning from a family trip to Cabo.

Shared on Instagram Story on Thursday, the sell sunset The 34-year-old star posted a photo of Tarek’s welcome home, taken as the HGTV star hugged Heather and placed her head on her growing baby bump.

“Finally reunited!!!” she wrote in the caption. “Kiss and love her baby boy. @therealtarekelmoussa I’ve missed you so much.”

Tarek, 40, moved to Cabo with his entire extended family, including son Brayden, 6, and daughter Taylor, 10 — the two children he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall. Heather, who is expecting her first child with Tarek, had to miss the getaway on doctor’s orders.

A rep for Heather told PEOPLE that Heather’s decision to skip the trip was driven by extreme caution, to avoid risks such as the Zika virus and food poisoning. Heather shared with PEOPLE that her doctor told her, “It’s not worth getting sick. The odds you can avoid, you should. Unavoidable exposures are different.”

Earlier this week, Heather admitted to having some “separation anxiety” in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“I miss my best friend while he’s in Cabo with the kids and our families so I’m going through pics I like of us 🤍,” the reality star wrote in the caption, alongside. a gallery of photos from their pregnancy session.

She continued, “This is the longest time we’ve been apart since we’ve been together so I might be feeling a little separation anxiety 😆 so help distract me! What are your books/shows favorite tv shows right now??”

On Monday, Tarek posted a large group photo of his family in one of Cabo’s beautiful villas.

“Family trips to Cabo are always a good idea 😎,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “Staying in a villa with all my family and our kids and having fun ❤️ Experiences like these are nothing without your family or close friends to share them with 🙏 So if you need the El Moussa family, we will be there :)”

“Just missing @heatherraeyoung like crazy but doctor’s orders come first!!” he concluded the caption, mentioning his wife.

Heather replied, “I miss my family ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and I love you so much baby.”

Another photo from the vacation was posted by Tarek on Instagram on Wednesday, showing him standing with his children on the beach. “The Three Musketeers take Cabo! 😎 It’s not the same without @heatherraeyoung, but we’re maintaining the fort here by doing lots of jet skiing, swimming, dining with the family and having a good time,” said the Flip or Flop star wrote. “Enjoy every moment before back to school for me and back to school for the children! ❤️”

“This all warms my heart, I miss my love so much,” Heather commented in the photo. “I can’t wait to kiss you tomorrow my love.”

Heather and Tarek were in the middle of in vitro fertilization treatments and had even planned a date to transfer an embryo next fall when they found out they were waiting, they told PEOPLE exclusively last month.

The couple, who are filming their new HGTV documentary series Flipping El Moussasare expecting a baby boy early next year.
