Two years ago, Danzig Told rolling stone magazine that he was satisfied with the way the UNFAVORABLE the shows took place. “Damn, we sold Madison Square Garden,” he said. “We actually oversold it. At the time, all the big promoters and record company people were saying, ‘A punk band will never headline Madison Square Garden.’ And, of course, we’re the first punk band to headline there. And not only did we sell it, we oversold it. So kudos to all those assholes, probably selling hot dogs. on Sixth Avenue.
the original UNFAVORABLE band broke up in 1983, and Only presented a new version of UNFAVORABLE in 1995. Various members have come and gone, but Onlyin the same way BLACK FLAGit is Dez Cadenaretained some form of UNFAVORABLE in the recording studio and on the road for the better part of the past two and a half decades.
In a 2016 interview with rolling stone, Only said to work with Danzig Again: “Glenn is Glenn. We have studied Glenn at the beginning and it’s the same with Glenn now. It doesn’t change. It’s just a different perspective. If we let Glenn be Glenn and do what we’re supposed to do, it’ll work. You don’t argue. I think we’re past that. I think we’re pretty old now.”
Asked what it was like to keep the UNFAVORABLE spend 20 years without Glenn, Only said, “There was always that hole. When Glenn split, there was always this feeling that we were missing a component of what makes us who we are. And I’m sure the same goes for him. In the other bands he was in, he changed people left and right. When we play together, it’s just us.”
