China launches push for foreign markets after easing COVID curbs

HONG KONG — Chinese local governments are aggressively courting foreign markets as Beijing unwinds its draconian zero-COVID policy and further eases pandemic restrictions. At least nine provinces, including Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, are sending hundreds of export-oriented companies to attend international Exhibitions with government subsidies to “grab orders” after harsh COVID restrictions took a toll on the Chinese economy.
